Memoir

i was reading sum memoirs and i read one that i really like and i would like to share it. I read a memoir tilted "Abuelo"(Grandpa), it tells a story about a young girl who reminisces upon the times she had with her grandpa. i chose this particular story because i could relate to this story. i remember when my grandpa passed away it was really hard for me and i could feel what the author felt. like the author i also contemplate about where my grandpa could be now. i sometimes wish i could back to the days when he was still here and give him one last hug.

César Chávez Legacy

A. César Chávez was born in March 31, 1927 in Yuma Arizona. He died in April 23, 1993 at the age of 66.

B. He is well known for being a labor leader and a civil rights activist.

C. One thing that is amazing about him is that he founded the National Farm Workers Association.

D. He made a change in society by protesting to something that is wrong. He led many strikes and demanded change. Without him many people who work in farmers would have been working in terrible conditions.

E. César Chávez is an outstanding man who motivates me to continue just like he did. He had little education put he was still able to rise and make a change. He fought for better rights for farmer workers.

F. in one occasion César Chávez got arrested for sitting in the “white only” section of a theater.

César Chávez is a person who fought for what is right. He saw how his family got sick due to pesticides and wanted buds to be killed another way. He helped the laborers by protesting for better right. He is no ordinary person, rose from the bottom like the plants that he grew. Had little education, but still fought on. He stood tall and with his mighty fist, and his strong belief in better rights. He protested peacefully with the words of his people, and not giving up till change was brought. Chanting “¡Sí se puede!” along the way until what was right was given, and till this day he legacy lives.
